This is where your healing starts.
It’s not just about care that’s more accessible. It’s about believing you can feel not just normal again–but you can feel great again–and having someone in your corner who won’t stop until you do.
That’s when I see it: the softening, the finally a doctor that hears me.
There’s a shift that happens when people sit down with me. They’ve just told me everything–years of symptoms, frustrations, not feeling heard.
I say, “I’m sorry you’ve been through all of this. Here is what I’ve heard from you and this is how I can help.”
Hi there, I’m Dr. Jode Burgin, a board-certified family physician, breast cancer survivor, and the friend who answers
all those burning health questions over
coffee.
(Which is
basically how all of this started.)
I created it for all the people who’ve felt dismissed, gaslit, or completely exhausted by a system that doesn’t have time to care. People who are tired of “everything looks fine” when everything in your body says you’re not.
After years of working in busy hospitals across Detroit, New York, Phoenix, and LA, I realized something:
Human.
Hopeful.
Holistic.
That’s when I knew: I had to come back, but I had to do it differently.
When I stepped away from medicine to heal from cancer, I kept running into former patients. They’d stop me in the grocery store or carpool line and say, “I miss you. I can’t find anyone who listens like you.”
As a physician, cancer survivor, mother, and mental health advocate, I believe deeply in the resilience of the human spirit and our ability to incorporate self-care into our daily lives. I’ve walked through the fire and returned with more empathy, clarity, and purpose.
Mental health and physical health are inseparable–and both deserve care that’s thoughtful, thorough, and personal. Whether you’re facing a diagnosis, navigating a hard season, or just trying to feel like yourself again, I’m here to remind you: we can do hard things, especially together.
“After years of feeling rushed and unheard in traditional clinics, I finally found the personalized care I was looking for with Dr. Burgin... This is the kind of care everyone deserves.”
That’s because I’m the kind of physician who listens deeply, treats holistically, and partners with you to create real, sustainable change.
“You feel like so much more than just my doctor. I can really talk to you.”
At some point, you’ll say something like:
I listen. I check in. I advocate. I explain. (You’ll never get a one-sentence answer from me.) And I help you get from frustrated to hopeful and healing.
I’ll sit down with you, ask about your stress levels and symptoms, your hormone history and your daily habits.

She loves a good laugh and believes medicine should feel like a conversation
She’ll treat the whole you, not just the most obvious symptom
She’ll never make you feel like you’re crazy or dramatic
She’s just as nerdy about research as she is about real-life solutions
She explains things in plain language (no eye-glazing medical speak)
If you call or message us, Cortney will be the first voice you hear as my right-hand in all things. She’s guaranteed to make sure you feel seen from day one, is the embodiment of “I can do hard things” and her life motto is “kill ‘em with kindness.”
Honestly, patients love her just as much as they love Dr. Jode–and that’s exactly how we want it.
